Keene State College invites applicants for the Assistant Director of Clinical Operations and Diversity Coordinator in The Wellness Centers Counseling Services. This position has leadership responsibilities for all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives of the department and provides assistance to the Executive Director in the administration of The Wellness Centers Counseling Services by being the primary coordinator of all clinical activities in counseling services, including case assignments and disposition/termination activities. Additional responsibilities include updating the policies and procedures manual for the clinical area; overseeing quality assurance of clinical activities; providing consultation services to other staff, faculty, and administrators; providing clinical supervision to interns; conducting individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; conducting initial evaluations and crisis interventions; designing and delivering mental health programming and outreach services to the college community; and any other duties as assigned.
This position also has leadership responsibilities of developing and providing relevant services, outreach, programs, and initiatives concerning mental health and wellness to historically underrepresented and/or disenfranchised populations on campus, including students of color, first-generation Americans, LGBTQ+ members, and any others who identify as ethnic or racial minorities or who may otherwise belong to culturally marginalized populations.
The Wellness Centers Counseling Services Team provides a wide variety of emotional health services to all students at Keene State College. The services provided are designed to help address existing personal challenges and prevent future problems. In addition to short-term individual counseling and group counseling, the Center offers consultation to staff, faculty and students; referrals for care to other professionals and agencies; urgent services including an after-hour emergency counselor hotline; campus outreach; and a wide variety of campus programs and events focused on the improvement of emotional well-being, challenging cultural stigma about emotional health difficulties, and problem prevention. A Masters degree and five years of related experience, or a doctoral degree and three years related experience; New Hampshire State professional licensure (candidates who are license eligible at the time of start date will be considered); strong experience and demonstrated competency providing clinical services, outreach, and programming to diverse and historically underrepresented persons and groups; and the ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.Additional Preferred Qualifications
Administrative experience/management of counseling center operations; experience working with college populations; experience treating a variety of clinical problems including eating disorders, substance abuse, suicidality, and mood disorders; a demonstrated commitment to the principles of Inclusive Excellence (IE); proven interpersonal skills; flexibility and accessibility to students and staff; team oriented and a willingness to collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting. Starting salary: $60,360-$76,830, commensurate with education and experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.
