Summary of Position

The University System of New Hampshire is looking for a talented Contract Specialist to join our procurement team. Under the general direction of the Director of Contract Management, you will perform a range of duties including negotiating contract terms, preparing contracts, evaluating bids, and researching current regulations. The ideal contract specialist will draft and edit contracts and demonstrate excellent attention to detail abilities. In addition to being an excellent communicator with both internal customers and external parties, the individual should also possess in-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements, and legal terminology.

A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of procurement activities and operations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract documents, and legal specifications.
Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns on a timely basis.
Strong organizational and process management skills.
Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office suite programs, working knowledge of ERP. systems, working knowledge of eProcurement technology.
Ability to perform financial and data analytics as related to contracts and contract negotiations.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Paralegal certificate or advanced degree in business or law.
Experience in higher education and/or public/government sector
Experience working in a decentralized organization with multiple operating units.
