Overview of Job Function:

The Associate Sustaining Engineer is part of the engineering team supporting and maintaining Verint's products. The associate engineer will work with the architects and product management team working on implementing features and enhancements, and also work with the Support and Quality Engineering (QE) team working on reliability and performance issues. The role will assist in supporting and maintaining innovative solutions that will involve exposure to all aspects of the development life cycle.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

* Produce code fixes and patches in response to QE and Support raised issues.


* Deliver enhancements and new functionality across the existing product set.


* Work within the organization, in a team environment, to deliver quality, satisfaction and resolutions to customers.


* Handle customer, partner and Verint staff product inquiries via any of the available support channels.



Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience


* Minimum of 0-3 years experience in JAVA programming


* Effective communication skills


* Ability to research, troubleshoot and resolve issues


* Understanding of debugging skills


* Understanding of software engineering fundamentals


* Good problem solving ability


* Successful completion of the background check process, including but not limited to employment, education, criminal convictions, OFAC, SS Verification and credit, where available and in accordance with federal and local regulations



Preferred Requirements:

* Experience developing for and working with Application Servers (JBoss, WebSphere, Weblogic)


* Experience of working with web-based technologies including JavaScript, HTML and CSS


* Experience working with Groovy


* Experience working with Confluence and JIRA


* Experience of database technologies preferably Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle DB


* Experience with reporting tools, preferably Jasper reports


* Experience working with application servers (Oracle WebLogic, JBoss)


* Experience with working with UNIX (Linux, Ubuntu, RedHat, Centos)


* Experience with working in a Cloud environment with AWS


* Experience with source code control systems (i.e. Subversion, Perforce)


* Experience working with Web Services (SOAP/REST)


* Java Profiling Experience (Java Visual VM)


* Agile methodology & SCRUM


* Experience in full software development life cycle from design to delivery
